How to make Mike's Keys your start up page

If you are on this page while following along, you will most likely find

listed in the the correct area and will just have to remove the "how.htm"

First pick your PC

  • PC COMPATIBLE

  • MACINTOSH



  • Using a PC

    Now pick your Browser

  • Internet Explorer

  • Netscape

  • AOL

  • AOL - but I want to use Internet Explorer or Netscape instead


  • Internet Explorer 3.0

    1. Select "View" and "Options" from the toolbar at the top of the screen.
    2. Click on the tab labeled "Navigation" and select "Start Page" from the drop box.
    3. Paste or type following:

    http://mikeskeys.com

    into the "Address" box and Click "OK."




    Internet Explorer 4.0

    1. Select "View" and "Internet Options" from the toolbar at the top of the window.
    2. Click on the tab labeled "General."
    3. Where it reads "which page to use for your home page" paste or type following:

    http://mikeskeys.com

    and click "OK."

    Internet Explorer 5.0

    1. Select "Tools" and "Internet Options" from the toolbar at the top of the window.
    2. Click on the tab labeled "General."
    3. At the top of the "Home Page" setting, where it reads
    "you can change which page to use for your home page" paste or type following:

    http://mikeskeys.com

    and click "OK."




    Netscape Navigator 3.0

    1. Select "Options" and "General Preferences" from the toolbar at the top of the screen.
    2. Select the tab labeled "Appearance"
    3. Paste or type the following:

    in the "Browser Starts With:" dialog box. Make sure to select the "Home Page Location" radio button and click "OK."

    Netscape Navigator (4.0 and 5.0 - Communicator)

    1. Select "Edit" and "Preferences" from the toolbar at the top of the window.
    2. Click on the option "Navigator."
    3. Where it reads "Navigator starts with" click the "Home Page" radio button and paste or type following:

    then click "OK."


    AOL (4.0/5.0)

    1. Click "My AOL" on AOL's home page and "Preferences" on the AOL menu above the toolbar.
    2. In the "Customize box", click the "WWW icon".
    3. Click the "General tab" on the AOL Internet Properties box, and in the "Home Page" field, paste or type following:

    Using a Mackintosh PC

    Now pick your Browser

  • Internet Explorer

  • Netscape

  • AOL

  • AOL - but I want to use Internet Explorer or Netscape instead

  • Internet Explorer (3.0 and 4.0)

    1. From the menu bar at the top of the window, choose "Edit," then "Preferences."
    2. Choose "Web Browser" then "Home/Search."
    3. Where it reads "Address:" paste or type following:

    then click "OK."

    Internet Explorer (5.0)

    1. From the menu bar at the top of the window, choose "Edit," then "Preferences."
    2. Choose "Web Browser" then "Browser Display."
    3. Where it reads "Address:" paste or type following:

    http://mikeskeys.com

    then click "OK."




    Netscape Navigator 3.0

    1. Select "Options" and "General Preferences" from the toolbar at the top of the screen.
    2. Select the tab labeled "Appearance"
    3. Paste or type the following:

    in the "Browser Starts With:" dialog box. Make sure to select the "Home Page Location" radio button and click "OK."


    Netscape Navigator (4.0 and 5.0 - Communicator)

    1. Under the Edit Menu, choose "Preferences." Then choose "Navigator."
    2. Under "Home Page," When you see "Navigator starts with:" click the radio button that says "Home Page."
    3. Where it says, "Clicking the Home Button will take you to this page", paste or type the following:

    Then click "OK."

    AOL (4.0/5.0)

    1. Click "My AOL" on AOL's toolbar and "Preferences" on the pull-down menu.
    2. In the "Preferences window", click the "Web button".
    3. In the "Home Page" box, paste or type following:

    AOL Information

    AOL users can either go to Netscape and download the latest Navigator for your system, or go to Microsoft and download their latest version of Internet Explorer.
    You can run either of these quality browsers through AOL. (to do this, log in to AOL, minimize AOL, and launch the other browser).
